Rainbow in a glass (Water Density Experiment)

On Monday, Room 2 investigated how liquids with different densities interact. They experimented with changing the density of water by dissolving varying amounts of sugar, then coloured each solution with food colouring. Then it was on to the fun part! Check it out:

Dressing up for the World Wildlife Fund

Students came dressed as animals or wore animal-themed clothing to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund which helps endangered animals. Check out Room 2's quirky menagerie!

What Is Globalisation?

This term for their globalisation inquiry, students are learning about a range of global issues. Working in small teams, they discussed how a connected world can have both positive and negative effects. Some students also imagined how globalisation may impact and change the world in 100 years. Maths: Doubling and Halving

Room 2's Rube Goldberg Machine

As part of our Inquiry into functions and simple machines, we designed and built a Rube Goldberg machine. We were inspired by the whimsical devices invented by the likes of Joseph Herscher. We used everyday objects such as cardboard tubes, rulers, marbles and dominoes to create a balloon popper that spanned several tables. Check it out!
